I might as well buy one that does!!!

Here are a few details:

1984 WH1 designer series Buick T-Type. All emblems intact...couple cracked fender fillers, common rust in doors...very straight body...6 cd changer (oooo), stock engine, stock trans, stock wheels, stock interior, only up-grades are a caspers conversion kit for the newer CCCI, new module, new computer, new crank sensor, full tune-up in september, flowmaster cat back, hot wired pump, and that is it...Everything else is original...power antenna still works!!! Everything is in decent shape....Paint needs some help, very little rust on the HARD TOP roof, and that is it! power windos are the only power option in the car except for power steering....manual seats and locks, manual trunk, center console, 99,xxx original miles.

So...enough about that...here are the pics!!!

Does this mean you're selling or??

lol...I knew exactly what I needed for the last 5 years now.....Only problem was that I was in college for 5 years!!!!!!!!! I had to pay semester by semester, my credit score sucked until 6 months ago, and now I finally have a good job, a house, and some spare time!!!! So...I got to thinking...get a running TR and go from there, or follow my dreams and finish my car...problem is, to get my car where I want it, is about 5000 dollars out of my range!!! I wanted 11 sec, possibly 10's if I was lucky enough....but realistically, I have had a 1984 TR sitting in a garage for 5 years waiting for an engine and trans....I think it is time to oblige and at least get it running....if I cant do that ($$$ again), then I should sell it to someone who can!!! but before that...i gotta try!!! I just thought for the price of the other car, I coulda had both!!!!

BTW, i got really screwed by a liar seller, and so i did not get the WH1 as advertised...it did not run, and most likely wasnt running when he called me and told me about it....i got my hopes up sky high, got lied to a whole bunch, then found out the car is dead and not running, so I gave up.....

Next!!!!!!!!

I'm not in that boat yet. I've only had mine for about a year and had spiratic periods of it actually running. I am getting periodic injector pulse. Replaced ecm and cam sensor and currently looking for short, bad ground or broken wire. Any suggestions? Need another hot air?

You said you have lots of parts. Do you happen to have an extra of the little metal heatshield that mounts to the front right side of the passenger side valve cover that protects the plug wires from the heat of the up pipe? Let me know if you do and send some pics to dthom8787@yahoo.com

So the one in Kenvil was a dud? I asked Frutchey about it (it was outside of Frutchey's Automotive) but he said it wasn't his car. I've heard that he's really into TRs but we've never crossed paths the whole time I've owned mine. When I talked to him last week he was busy putting a TR drivetrain in a Monte SS (beware - it's white with the red and orange striping)

Be patient and I'm sure one will turn up. You have to be in the right place at the right time. I saw one at Salerno a couple of weeks ago, too. It was a WE4 (that was showing its age) in for service. Anyone paying the dealer to maintain their 20-year-old turbo car would tend to lose interest in it pretty quick. I'll have to ask the service manager what happened to it next time I'm in there.

I've personally spoken with frutch a few times, and I am un-impressed with any of his handi-work....He tried telling me a car for sale in his lot was a 42000 mile GN with stock honey comb rimbs and the GNX guage pod...nothing else was out of the ordinary....It was a plain GN with GNX look alike rims, and the GNX guages (wrong guages anyway...speedo only went to 120, GNX went to 160)....Well, long story short, he wanted 21,000 for it....I was appalled, needless to say. He didnt have time to opent the hood for me, but at that point i had already heard enough!!!

lol.....

As per that car in his front lot, he DID work on it once before, and according to the seller, frutch couldnt do anything to get the car running (more lies maybe?) I have seen a few GN's out there in the past 3 years, but usually the same 4 or 5 cars. I also saw that Monte sitting htere for a year!!! lol...I guess he got sick of looking at it!!!

Frutch is a nice guy, but I think I'll keep my buick in my own garage.

i only met frutch when i saw two GNs for sale in his lot...both were rediculously over priced, and one was not negotiable!!!!!

I told him to go to ebay for a reality check....Havent really been in his shop since...I am kinda skeered, with the way he thinks these cars are worth, I dunno what everything else is worth to him!!!

I'll keep my eyes open though...right now I am going to concentrate n my brother's car...his is ready to go, just gotta assemble!!!

I went to high school with Matt, who I believe is the eldest son of the guy that started the business. I've talked to him twice since high school, and one of those times was last week when I asked him about that car. They moved from that big spread on Howard Blvd. to that tiny place which I would figure is not a good sign. I had always heard he was into TRs and saw a few there but like I said I've never run into him at Island or any of the local meets.

Anyway, my brother and I are local (I'm in Roxbury and he's in Budd Lake). We'll be at the McDonald's Tuesday night cruises when they start back up in the spring. They let my GN in no problem (they waive the 20+ year-old for 'special interest' cars) but the Turbo T might be a tougher sell.

Are you Jim Stoltz? If so, i ran into you a couple times at the Mc Donalds, and at the Mine Hill car show (King of the Hill) this summer. I doubt you remember me, they were merely causual encounters about what mods and time slips like most other spectators....lol...But iI do remember seeing your car in some calander....this year? lol....

I used to live right in Mine Hill, now I am in Hopatcong!

Thanks for the info and all!

Yeah that's me. I have a hard time keeping track of people's real names nevermind linking real names to screen names - sorry. I'm much better with faces.

And yes, my car was in this year's calendar. Don't remember which month off the top of my head. I think it might've been September. The CHEATER tags give it away.

I'm one of those weirdos that live in the town I grew up in. I've lived in Roxbury since I was a toddler. I live 1/2 a mile from the house I grew up in. We'll probably see you again this Spring at McD's.
