Has anyone had to do this?

I need to find out what special tools I need to replace the Ignition Key/Lock cyl. I found I was able to start the car without the key last night, and also remove the key while the car was running. I think you can replace just the lock, but it would seem best to replace both while it is all apart.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

You need a steering wheel puller and the special tool to remove and install the lock plate.

Both can be purchased at Sears. ;)

Thanks Nick and Joe!

Now I'm wondering about the Steering wheel. Time for another post! (Aftermarket or get the stocker refinished)

the ignition switch is located down towards the base of the column so it really wouldn't benifit you to get a switch at this point.

I think he means the lock cylinder. If he can start it without a key in the lock, that is a theft waiting to happen.
