Hi everyone,
Like the title says, I am new here and i'm at the final process of owning an 86 GN. I searched through quite a number threads and a couple stickys and wanted to confirm with you all before i made a big purchase. The car currently has 16" GNX style wheels. I'm going to take those off and put some 15" wheels and wanted to run a 275 rear tire in the back on either a 15x8 or a 15x9. I saw 4" of backspacing mentioned on both of these setups, but was hoping someone could clear that up?

How much backspacing do i want on the rear for either of these two setups?

I have 8 inch on rear with 4.5 back space and 275 60 15. If i take a hard turn get a small amount of chassis rub but only while taking a hard turn

Regan...have pair of factory widened 8 inch wheels?

Thanks for the info. I saw a member on here had 4 1/8" of backspace on his 15x8 wheels. Maybe due to this running reason? In any case 15x8 with 4"BS seems good. I'm not autocrossing the car so it should work out.
