Ok, I've got a great deal on a 86/87 ECM, I need a chip and injectors to match my current mods.

MenInBlack--you suggested to me a little over a week ago to go with 36-37lb injectors. can anyone tell me if there is a good package that I can buy the injectors and a chip together....or should I plan on spending the extra money getting a chip custome burned...and where/who can do this...approx how much $ and time would this take?

obviously I haven't sold the car yet for the few of you who know me...I'm gonna stick this out one more season.

I'll keep who wants to know posted on progress/results

if it was me i'd keep my eyes open on the for sale board for anything in the 36/40/42.5# range.find a good deal on some then have a chip burned for your specific combo.

if you find a good deal on some 36's you can get a thrasher chip for $25.

later,sean

I don't know of any vendors offering a package deal, but like WFO said search the for sale section and you should find a great deal. I purchased my 009 on sale last year during the racetronix group purchase and have been very happy with them since. My chip came from Red Armstrong: Quad Air. Another vendors chip was used initially, but when Red's chip was installed it made quite a nice difference. I think it was $75.

The first chip is 75.00 and then 50.00 for any additional and 25.00 for any changes to the chip after you buy it from Red.

So, are you saying all your issues were due to a bad ecm???

poston sells the 36/37 pound injectors
they are made by DelphI and run $269 a set

i have them on my car and it idles great

they always work great with the thrasher chip with the 87 ecm swap

:D

Only down fall I see with running a thrasher is it was set up for a intercooled car not the hot air. Which means you will most likely run too rich. I would recommend going with a chip burner who burns chips for the hot airs, not just any chip. Better results that way. Just what I have found from experience.
