In-line trans filters... Good idea?

You can also use a stock power steering filter from a mid-90's Cadillac Northstar. It's the same size as the fuel filter in most EFI GM cars and has 3/8" hose ends. I put one in my GTO to catch any residual debris after my Art Carr converter ballooned and filled the trans and cooler with shrapnel from the shattered needle thrust bearing. Ol' Art told me that that converter was good for "600+ HP". Yeah, right.

I have an external filter in the cooler line that is the size of B9 Baldwin. I used an HP-1 Fram filter head for the conversion. Works great.

If you do run one of these, which line do you install it in? The pressure or return? My guess would be the pressure to trap junk before it gets to the coolers? Interested.
