hello people; I'am talking air intake now. I'am still up in the air about weather to get a cold air intake air supply or keep it in the engine compartment as I have now. But to any one that has a cold air kit and the filter is exposed under the car. Any bad experiances with the weather and the air cleaner exposed lik that? I know about the oiled K&N and it should be OK. But I need more convincing. On any MC I've had a K&N would be one of the first things I would do but nothing was totally exposed. If you wanted you could put on a special sock to really keep out the rain.

i ran my cold air without thinking about the rain. havent really encountered rain since but it is one of my concerns as well. part of the inner fender wall cover my intake, but id say maybe 3 or 4 inches of the filter is exposed to the tire spitting up some water at it in the rain.

Ibby,

You what route I prefer , That said I just might be selling my Prototype CAI set up this winter when the car is down for some upgrades. I will let you know if I go to sell it..

hello people; Scott W. as from another post on the intake you mentioned a one off. How about a pic. You never know we might do business. I want a LS1 MAF. What is your system using?

hello people; I'am kinda leaning towards the Big Mouth Shorty from TR Customs from that deal with devil area Conn. It's like the one I have but it's a bit of an upgrade with the setup and I could go LS1 dia. all the way.
But the more I think of it I don't want the AC hanging out all the time like a CAI would.

Many years ago I did a real world test of my original cold air kit. Back when I actually used to travel out of state with my GN I went to Turbo Regal show in PA and drove it back home 5 hours in a torrential downpour. I swear this little black cloud followed me all the way home from PA to CT. The rain was so back that my friend who went down with me in his T-Type had to slow down to 35mph on RT 15 in CT because he was hydroplaning.

My car did not hiccup at all on the entire trip. Sure the filter got a little wet but it does not hurt the filter as you use water to clean them anyway. Nothing got up into the motor. Only way that could possible happen is if you totally submerge the filter.

We offer a few different ways of plumbing your car, just pick your poison and be done with it. Or just put a filter on the end of your MAF.

hello people; Well it's about time someone has a real world experiance with the CAI but now it's going to add more to my scrambled brain.
TR Customs. Was the deal with the Devil a package deal or did you make it individually?

hello people; The deal with the Devil thing I made up regarding the quality of vendors, shops and people's knowedge of the TB all being from the Conn. area. Something had to be given up for that. I heard the Devil takes souls to deal with. Any truth to that?

remember crappy mass roads and dirt will get to the air cleaner hung outside the hot hot hot engine comp  my 2 cents.. leave the ac where it is an work on something else your car needs. BUT IF ya NEED a cold air kit (kool guy look) a lot of guys do run Marks kit :p

hello people; Scott W I'd still like to see what you came up with for a intake.
I've asked a few times and I must sound like a pain.

One, I don't have any pic's of it
Two, if it won't fit what your wanting whats the point?

Why would you want to see pic's of something that won't fit properly, i'm confused?

You can't go wrong with the one TR sells so if your wanting one buy his because it will work for the LS1 MAF.
