Are these a full set of GTA/GNX rims, fronts and rears? Or all fronts? I am using a full factory set of GTA rims (fronts and rears). If this is your situation also, mount the GTA fronts on the rear of your car (no spacers needed) and the GTA rears on the front of your car WITH SPACERS. If you have all fronts, then I dont believe you need any spacers. The same lug nuts that I had with my stock '84 Ttype rims worked fine with the GTA/GNX's.
If the rims your getting are the aftermarket (i.e. Enkei) wheels then you will need long throw lug nuts because the face of the wheel (with the "honeycomb" spokes) is flat and isnt recessed/dip in the center for the lugs/center cap like the GM GTA/GNX rims. (Hope this all makes sense :) )

I have a set of GTA wheels that I'm fixing up. They need lots of work. What size spacer do you use and why do you put the fronts in the rear and the rears up front?

Im not exactly sure on the size of the spacer. My wheels still rub a little on tight turns, so maybe a slightly thicker one than what I have would be better  , I'll try to find out what mine are.
As far as the front/rear thing. The offset of the wheels is the reason for this. Funny thing is that putting the wheels this way on a Gbody even looks better. The GTA fronts have a bigger lip than the rears, so installed in the opposite configuration just plain out looks better/correct. I never really looked real close at a Fbody with with these wheels installed, but next time I get a chance it will probably look kind of funny to me seeing the wheels with the bigger lip on the front.
