I am currently battling with a low BLM problem. Last fall the car would drop to 90 and stay there. I changed out the MAF (AC-Delco) and the readings came up to around 110 or so. Lately I've been checking it again and it's around 98-105. Fuel pressure is set to 40 PSI (line off) and changing it has no effect on the BLM's. I was told by the previous owner that the car has 40# injectors (part#621307???) in it. Looking at the injectors they have a green stripe and nowhere can I find 40# being green only red stripes. The chip I'm not sure who's it is but does state 40# on it. I figured before I go ahead and change these injectors/chip to solve this rich problem I would ask and see if this might be a problem. Thanx. :)

Problem

Hi John if my mind serves me right I think the green stripes are the 36# injectors. If you have a chip set up for 40# injectors then the ecu will sense this and kkep trying to richen it because the injectors are not spraying as much fuel, so there for the BLM's might go down due to this. I am no expert but just figured I would gine my 2-cents.
ps: the white T has a new home in CT.

(Info incorrect)

The green stripes might be the newer 009's these are 42.5# injectors, so you might have something else going down. Sorry

have a look!
re-check that part number, just to make sure, you probably have but the number just caught my attention being so so close. maybe maybe not, i have 009's pt# 621031. mine have green stripes on them,in the link they look blue(could be my old computer though!), but it seems colors are on the way out as a way to id. throwing my o2 in because i just went thru this to get a new chip. i also seached lucas injectors on aol and it took awhile but i found 'em. racetronix has a link to lucas at the bottom , if i remember correctly, but i didn't try it. lucas was also bought by delphi(search that as well), i think, but i can't remeber what happened this morning! i have a red armstrong chip and blm's love the bottom, tap the throttle and 128 pops right up, however i had a MAF issue, like you and when i finally got a good one( took two) it helped bring 'em up to the low 100's at cruise. bring that fuel pressure up to 43 just to be safe, at least till you know whats going on. do you have a MAF pipe or the old duct, if duct make sure it has no holes, no matter how small! good luck!

BLM Blues

I incorrectly listed the injector part# in my post. It is actually #621037, so after doing a search on it appears that these were the replacements for the red stripes and are Lucas 38# injectors. I'm not sure if this is still a problem or not, but I think I'm gonna get a new chip for them anyway. I think my chip is a reds also. I will also bring that fuel pressure up to 43PSI and check for any leaks. Thanx for the replies. :)

DCVING-- Give me call this summer and we'll hit a car show or something.

Are you absolutely sure? If you run 38# injectors with a 40# chip, then you will suffer high BLM's. If you have 42.5# injectors and run them with a 40# chip you will suffer lower than normal BLM's.

If I do a search on the part number 621037 they actually come up as 37# on a vendor website. If I search elsewhere they can be anything from 37-40?? I'm not sure maybe when they first came out they were close to 40 and went down as they got older. I have read that they were a replacement for 40# red stripes.
