Hello all,

I am going to replace my underhood AFPR with an "in car" one. I am not mechanically inclined.

Anyone have any suggestions/hints/things to watch out for etc??

Thanks very much,

Ravi

When you put the new one on, be sure that you lubricate the little "O" rings, so the don't get hung up and cut. It is a PITA to put the thing on, and then when you turn on the pump, the thing leaks, so you have to start over. And be sure to have a couple spare "O" rings, just in case. They are the same as the ones on the injectors, I think.

I am really confused by the question
why would you even consider putting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator "in car" ??

too lazy to pop the hood to set the pressure ??

now an " in car "adjustable WG control thats another story

FP

Yeah, FP is pretty much tune it, set it, and forget it. Only change it when you change chips, or maybe from "Street" to "Kill" mode.

Precision, or Eastern, or one of those companies makes the thing. It is like a regular adjustable FPR, with a line that extends into the car, so you can change the setting without popping the hood. It seems pretty pricey, to me, for what you get, but I can imagine that for a few days it would be fun to change the setting, and watch your Scanmaster, to see the BLMs change.

thanks

Thanks for the input guys. I am more concerned with having to do anything to prevent the fuel from spraying as I change the AFPR or is that not possible?? I thought that since you have to be wary when change the fuel filter due to fuel in the lines that there would be a similar caution for the AFPR??

I have never done anything mechanical on ANY car before, far less this one.

I like the idea of being able to change fuel pressure, boost and alky spray from the cockpit. There must be some variables that require changing tune ie temp etc. Why pull over and pop the hood when I can do it "on the fly"??

Thanks again,

Ravi
