Installing Girdle w/ timing cover on or off?

First time reinstalling my girdle to my block in my TTA. Blew a head gasket and tore it down to clean the graphite up. Now I need to seal it black up. What is the best way to install the girdle? With the timing cover off or on first. Im using "The Right Stuff" to seal it to the block surface.

I DO NOT WANT THIS THING TO LEAK!

If you do the front cover last you need to pull the dowels so you can get it on the sealer then put the dowels back.

I've always put the cover on last. You just need to make sure you don't crack it.

Ask Jason since he makes them & would have a real good idea on how to install them so they dont leak!!
