I'm putting a NON lock converter in a car for my friend. I have the NON lock valve. Can I install this when I remove the pan to drain the fluid before I pull the trans out or is it better to roll it over on it's side on a bench?

Trying to save myself a step, figured I'd remove the pan to drain, change the valve, reinstall pan, pull trans, take the o ring off the input shaft and the thingy in the input shaft out and reinstall with new converter.

Can I do it this way?

Yes can be done in car or on the bench . I would pull the pan and drain it before pulling trans, itll save alot of mess .

i did mine in the car. if i had the choice i would do it on the bench, you won't have to work upside down or with you arms in the air.
