Im about to replace the intake manifold gasket on my 87 buick regal turbo.
I was wondering if anyone has any pics of diagrams of the following, bolt torque sequence, i know the torque spec is 45 foot lbs. I also was wondering if anyone had pics of the spots to place rtv and sealent.

ive never done an intake manifold on one of these type of cars before so im walking in the dark when it comes to this particular car, so any info photos or advice would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks guys!

The rule with torquing elongated things down is to start in the middle and work your way out. (think about smoothing wrinkles out of a sheet). Conversely when taking things loose, start from the outside and work towards the middle.

Look in the resources section of the other web site- TurboBuicks.com. diagram and specs there

found it thanks, any areas i should put rtv, ive been told to put it around the coolant ports in front and back

Set the manifold down and look at the gap on the valley area. That will tell you if you're going to run the gasket or just a bead of RTV.

When that's decided, a blob in each of the four corners where the head, block, and intake meet. If the heads and/or intake are pitted a thin smear around the water ports never hurt.

Make sure when setting the intake down, you drop it straight down and don't slide it around displacing the sealant.

X2 you don't want a bunch of rtv, clogging internal passages up.

I concur with it at the corners. I've not had probs around the water passages leaking when using just a gasket.
