Hey guys, im posting this for a buddy of mine so if any other info or pics is needed it might be a day or so before i can get ahold of him. He was tapping the thread holes to put helicoils in and on one of the plenum bolt holes he ended up going through to the inside of the intake (see pics). His question is being the hole is going in the intake instead of out of it will this cause an issue being he was going to put studs with lock tight in so the hole would be blocked. I attached the pica he sent me and since Ive never had this issue 1382153248883.jpg1382153262644.jpg1382153271920.jpg im hoping i can get an answer for him here.

I assumed so being the stud is going to be blocking the hole and i figured its no different the someone screwing in a plug, but I never has that issue so i wanted to get others opinions. Thank you 1fastcobra for your input and confirmation:)

It will leak a little but not enough to hurt performance. It might discolor that area after a while but probably not that much.

Your friend is lucky in what hole poked through as that's the one that uses the special bolt for the throttle cable bracket. You can put a long stud in that location like I do with my plenum bolt kit. The only difference with what I do is that intake will need sealant on the stud. When it cures it'll be a seal and the rest of the holes won't get poked through now that the owner got a 'lesson' today :D
