Was taking off stock intercooler today and this happened.I was having trouble getting it out,so I decided to take off i.c. fan. When I took out the 3 bolts fan came off but it sure sounded like something fell off the bolts into this brass looking piece bolted to harmonic balancer.Part of fan?I think there is 3 bolts in the brass piece.I tried to loosen up one and motor turns.

You should be able to hold the motor and get the three bolts out. An air ratchet would work well in this case. Ive done the same thing before, so you're not alone.

theres loose nuts in a recess holding them to not spin on the inside of it but if you take the bolts out with out removing the pulley you most likely dropped the nuts into the pulley

you have to take out the 3 1/2 inch bolts from the pulley holding the fan bracket so you can put it back togather in one piece with the fan attached to it.
