would it help cool the air if I put an electric fan on the intercooler?just curious,because I have a 12" electric spal sitting here doing nothing.Figured I might take the one off the crank pully and put a puller on the intercooler.Whatdooyathink?

My opinion, don't run the fan at all.

I brought this up a while back. My idea was to mount a fan that fit the intercooler and use some sort of paddle switch that would make the fan go off at a certain MPH and have it always on below that speed. I had one of those switches but threw it out as I didn't anticipate ever using it. Not sure where to pick one up. In theory I would think it would be a good idea. Draw more air thru the IC when sitting in the staging lanes and not having the drag of the stock fan once under way. Just never got around to trying it. That's what New England winters are for.

I have no way of verifying the validity, but have read that the fan is there for airflow up to about 35 mph. After that, the airflow through the scoop takes over. What I do believe with every fibre of my being is that GM would not have incurred the cost of putting that fan there if it wasn't needed.
