Intercooler options....

I think for my next BIG purchase for my car I need a bigger intercooler BUT (and its a big but) I am on a college kids budget. IN fact I just spend most of my summer earnings on a Cotton Engineered Strip Tranny and Art Carr 3200 N/LU convertor!(but it was well worth it.. ) I was wondering if it wouold be almost (I know it wont be the same) the same to just go with a bigger neck and work with that or should I spend the money and get a 1 1/2 intercooler or something like that? Heads and cam are in the future but definately not in the near future. Thanks!

Your setup looks similar to what mine is and what it is leading to. If funds are that tight, you should just stick with a big neck for now. You can get those for $150 shipped or buy the part and have the work done(almost as much $$), or do the work yourself if possible. If you are looking for mid to high 11's like me, I think it would be adequate for now. I'll leave the heads and cam answer to someone else as I don't plan to do this. Don't think heads or cam it is needed for the mid to upper 11 range, and you would be out of injector and nearly turbo at that level also. Also, past that level you will be more likely to break things
