intercooler sizes

As one might expect from a forum that doesn't specialize in turbos, I was reading on another forum that specializes in trucks, and someone metioned that bigger isn't better when it comes to intercoolers.
He was going on how too big of an intercooler would cause a pressure drop, due to the "extra" space it would have to preassurize.
Is there any truth to this?

You can run into streetability issues with "too much" IC for sure. A large front mount can cause compressr surge in certain situations like a freeway on ramp, stop and go traffic etc. They work best in a heavily modded all out track car and large turbo than in a lightly modded street car and small or medium sized turbo. Just my 2 cents.
