I'm new to this board and was wondering if a hot air motor can be intercooled to perform like a later GN?

Yep, it's about a day's work and if you go with a front mount intercooler it will perform like a good running stock 86-87 GN.

hey cool84 so doig the whole intercoller set up would perform as good as a 86 /87? would that mean like poston front mount intercooler kit they offer or what set up? for a hotair

Pretty much any FM IC will do. This is one of the few things I do have track times on. The Spearco was my first mod, I didn't have a fuel pump, adj. regulator or any of that stuff. I do believe I had a chip and K&N. On 13-14psi boost (stock 87 boost) I went 13.91@ 101mph. Pretty much right on with a stock IC car.

there is NO point to intercool a motor

what DO YOU like more being outside in 90 degree weather or in the -30 degree weather in the winter?

yeah not just think how your engine will feel if you make it too cold!
yeah it wont be staying around too long, it will be like all the other engines in the penzoil commercial and brake through your car!
Do you even know what you're talking about?

I think he's watching too much TV.

...plus the 17 posts tells all.

Do yourself a favour 10,000...sit back and read about as many posts as you can. You've got to learn what these cars are all about before giving ANY advice. I'd hate to see you give some poor newbie bad advice and have his car blow up - not unlike the Penzoil commercial you refer to.
