Interesting article regarding firearm self defense.

The comments following the article have some good points, too.
A comment I read from another source, said that an "average citizen" involved in using a handgun for self defense, hits the target in only 2% of the attempts.
The statement made in this article has the perp being much closer than I had thot, when the defender fired....
I guess the use of my Mossberg is a fairly sure way to TCOB....At least up to 50'.

I have read a few similar articles and it seems that most seem to agree that the majority of self defense scenarios involving a firearm take place in a pretty close distant (usually 5-7 yds) and in many cases there was no need for a high capacity autoloader. Everyone will have varying opinions about the effectiveness of different calibers in SD situations, but I really think shot placement is the key. Oh well, just seen it and thought I'd pass it along for whatever it's worth.
 
Nice to see another endorsement of the revolver vs the autoloader.
