I had a chance to take the Buick out for the first time in a long while this weekend for a couple passes. I was running on the stock size tires (cooper 215/65-15) because my drag radials are worn out and I've been to cheap to buy some more. I also just changed the turbo to a Precision te60 instead of my te44.
I could tell from my initial test drive with this turbo, that the low end is terrible. I can only guess that the precision .63 exhaust housing is the cause. At the track the highest boost I could get at the line was 5psi. whereas the te44 can build 10lbs or more. Anyway, after playing around with the boost, I just left it set to 20psi due to the small tires and the poor track conditions. Here is the info for the best pass.
60' 2.293 (lol)
330' 5.83
1/8 8.68
mph 86.43
1000' 11.13
1/4 13.19
mph 109.23
The bad 60' was not from tire spin, but just the delay in building any real boost. Before I go out again I'll either put the te44 back on or I might try to install a .63 garrett housing on the te60. I'll also just bite the bullet and get some new tires, I really miss a 1.6 sixty foot.
