The car is an 85 t-type with a brand new nos long block just been fired up. At idle there is a small miss when you ease up the throttle with your hand at about 1/3 throttle the motor misses fairly badly then smooths out going towards the top of the throttle.
Stuff either checked or changed already:
Changed coil and module
Changed maf
Changed plugs and wires
changed fuel filter (has brand new pump in tank) (psi line on is 35)
sprayed carb cleaner on all vac lines, throttle body, canister, map sensor, base of egr and egr pipe to check for leaks
checked accessory bracket ground
checked egr (pulled up on it and engine stumbled)
tps is .42 at idle
iac is around 19-21 at idle
did a compression test
1 = 140
3 = 135
5 = 140
2 = 145
4 = 130
6 = 140
as far as the history we dont know much
the car had 76,000 miles on the clock when we got it the motor was smoking (probably turbo seals) but it also sounded like it had a knock
my dad then started to tear the car apart and basically did a frame on resto on the underside and engine bay.
the engine is in fact an un-ran crate motor that my dad bought for the car. my dad checked all the clearances on the motor and everything checked out fine. The motor itself sounds great.
We have another hotair car that we are going to try an ecm out of but other than that we are totally stumped bad.
I'd appreciate any ideas on a really stubborn misfire i can get.
I have an OTC scanner but it is an 84 computer and will not tell me all the info an 87 ecm will.
Thanks
