Iphone recovery?

I've evidently misplaced my fone password.
It seems the recovery is a major issue w/ Apple.
I asked for a p/w change on 8/2, and got a date of 8/15, for a fone call, to rest the p/w.
I went to Verizon, where I bought the pos, and they said no deal. Go to an Apple store. The damn store is over a 100 mi rd trip!
Now, the "date" is at an exact time, down to the second, when they are supposed to call me.
NE1 have to go thru this, to get it changed?

Dumb question , but the "Forgot Password" feature doesn't work?

you must have an old phone for no service to help you
seriously what model I phone is it , you should be able to talk to apple service and get it straightened out

Nope. That feature led me to get the date assigned, to go thru the process.
Apple calls it "recovery".
The fone is about 3 yrs old. It's an SE model.
I have the PW written down. Won't work. Once you try it a couple times, they "lock" further attempts.
Oh well, we'll see tonite at 8:40:44. They are supposed to contact me, either by call or text.
