My youngest just dunked his iPod.... its toast.

Any of you guys got an extra one you would let go cheap. Its gotta be the iPod Touch, 2G or later generation. The old one was 16GB.

Thanks,

TurboBob

Sorry our are too old.
Once the iPhone came out we had no reason to upgrade.

Sorry Bob...an old geezer like wouldn't have anything that fancy. I still have a 5 pre-set station FM, AND AM, radio that you can carry in your pocket...waay cool.

But I was drawn to your title like a moth to a flame :)

Best of luck.

I've heard of the rice trick, but I opened it up and dried it with warm air.

Still dead.

I had to dry a camera out for a couple days.
Removing the power (battery) to the device seems to really help.

Believe it or not, there could be very small amounts of moisture still inside it. Just try the rice trick, and if it doesn't work, its toast anyways right? Like I said.. What have you got to lose? Back when the RAZR was the best phone you could have, I dropped mine in the pool. Dried it out with a hair drier, and it still did not work. Threw it in rice for a couple days... Worked right when I put the battery back in. True story. Mom was happy that we didn't have to shell out a 50$ deductible (insurance).

My wife knocked her itouch in a glass of water on the night stand and it was in there for six hours! The next day we started drying it out and in a few days it started working again. We have had that itouch for a couple years and the kids play with it all the time. It did act up a little for the next few months but I think there was a little water still in there.

bob there are plenty of computer stores that repair ipods. just got mine repaired for $40 and its 7 years old

Try taking it back to the local apple store - someone dropped my wifes 3 week old ipod and cracked the screen.I was going to take it to one of the local independent ipod repair places but decided just to give the apple store a try. first off they were cheaper then the non apple stores but secondly they replaced the ipod free of charge.
Its worth a try to see if they will do anything for you
BTW this was the ipod store at partridge creek i think its in clinton township
