a 95 camaro z28 with LT1 with 122,XXX. GOODS- Rebuilt Tranny , Ram Air Hood and intake , 4:10 gears , AC works , Brand new tires , Chrome z28 wheels , t-tops not leaking, flowmaster exhast system.
The BAd - minor rear end problem , dash is cracked , headliner needs replacement,

The guy was aasking $3500, now hes askin $1200
What do yall think?

For 1200 you cant go wrong. If it has the t56 its definitely worth it.You could part it out and make double if it turns out bad.95-96 Lt1s are better lt1's of the bunch. You could get rear end for like 3-400 and have a good running car.Just for someone to drop from 3500-1200 is odd.Good luck

Well, he didnt necessarily drop from 3500 to 1200...he did it over time but thats what hes at now. As far as the lt1, do they make good power

Well, there are plenty of parts cars out there to fix what you need if you get it.
Seems you could almost end up with two complete cars for about $2500 or so.

4:10 gears would not be pleasant with an automatic.... way too much gear. everything else is minor. The PITA is the 95 OBDII ADL port but it still runs OBD1. That means you'll have to use an OBD1 scanner with an adapter to hook up to the OBDII port. Headliner and cracked dash are merely cosmetics. $1200 is worth the parts. Find out if the distributer has been changed yet. The Optispark distributer was designed for 100K miles, it will often go longer if it's a good one. Many of the replacements suck and fail frequently...... and a plug and play complete unit isn't cheap. Changing plugs on the driver's side is easy, the passenger side is a PITA.

I've got a 95 TA. They can be made to run very nice on the street, it a nice carving corners car. There's plenty of resources for parts and scantools. Our own Bob Baily has made some very ingenius products for the lt1 motors too. The opti can be finiky but always use a ac delco one and your good. My laptop scanner software came with the correct Aldl plug for the odb2 plug with odb1 PCM so it was no prob either. Just go to the forums at camaroz28.com. Mine puts down 340rwhp with a very streetable cam and a4 tranny with 3:42 gears. Looks like a very good deal!

Here are some pics of car...

Wow. Nice. I'd buy it, seems worth the money. Just take it to a mechanic and pay him to check it out. You might find something "hidden" will be very, very expensive to fix. But, it's a beautiful Camaro on the outside. Real nice.

Go for it.

for 1200 buy it , swap the gears and drive it as a daily till it falls apart!

Alright guys...I got a question that's concerning me. My buddy went to check it out for me and said that when he put the car in drive it didn't go...same thing in overdrive. He said low 1 worked fine. Could this be the gears or trans? We didn't actually take it out on open road... All he did was reverse it back a little and then drive forward since the rear is going out.

Most likely lost the low sprag. When that happens, the sun shell is probably not in the greatest shape either. Time for a trans rebuild and replacement of broken parts.

the add said rebilt trans , i would look at the shifter cable clip and bracket on the tranny

If reverse, neutral and park line up.... it's not the shifter cable. the transmission is 4L60E, basically an electonically controlled TH700. There could be an electonic problem as well.

That's just more opportunity to negotiate lower! It still sounds like a winner overall. Would be a great DD to beat on and not feel guilty.

Where is the car located

If you do not buy it I might.

I have a fresh 4l60e sitting here

I could use a good shop car like this

offer $1k for the car, figure $300 for a junkyard trans and a weekend to put it in..
drive it until something else breaks, then fix that..
cheap cars are the best cars.
