i was going to buy a full RJC pulley set. was just wondering if there were any special tools i'd need and how difficult it was. will i have to take the intercooler out to get any of the pullies on and off?

Funny you should ask, I just installed mine Saturday from Jason. Just make sure you have a decent P/S puller for the P/S Pulley as not to scratch it putting it on. You will be amazed at the quality and light-weight of his pulleys:cool:

I was lucky and already had my Turbo off and all my pipes as I sent them out to be coated, so getting in there was very easy. If you do not mind working a little tight, you should not need to take intercooler off. I would however take the up-pipe off and the Maff pipe, it makes it much easier to get in there.

Here is a crappy picture, but gives you a idea of how they look. My crank pulley arrived today so I will post a decent picture when all are done.

Hope this helps:cool:

Do it, I know $380.00 a tough pill to swallow for pulleys. However when you feel how light they are and how well built they are, you will be happy. I think a pack of smokes weighs more than the idler pulley. I just had to buy them all including the new alt fan and nut:D :D :D

I am going to do the crank pulley tonight, so I will give you guys a better picture off the entire deal:cool:

I was going to ask where the crank pulley was.

Definitely do the pulleys. I almost fainted when I felt how light the crank pulley was compared to stock. Not only do they perform but they look awesome too. Another killer product from RJC!!

The weight difference is bizzare. Crank pulle goes from 8+ to 1lb.

Can you still use the intercooler fan with the RJC pulleys?

http://www.rjcracing.com/RJC_Buick_Products/RJC_Billet_Alum__Pulleys/rjc_billet_alum__pulleys.html

Pulley Weights (All of our pulleys are 100% stock dia.)

Factory Stock Crank Pulley with intercooler fan; 8+lbs.
Factory Stock Crank Pulley no intercooler fan; 6 lbs. 2 oz.
RJC Billet Aluminum Stock Style Crank Pulley no fan. 1 lb. 10 oz.
RJC Billet Aluminum Race Style Crank Pulley Razor 1 lb. 1 oz.
RJC Billet Alum. Race Style Crank Pulley Undersize 15oz.

Factory Stock Steel Water Pump Pulley 1 lb. 8 oz.
Competitors Billet Aluminum Water Pump Pulley 8 oz.
RJC Billet Aluminum Water Pump Pulley "Razor Style" 7oz.

Factory Stock Steel Power Steering Pump Pulley 1 lb. .
RJC Billet Alum. Power Steering Pulley "Razor Style" 7oz.

Factory Stock Steel Idler Pulley 10 oz.
RJC Billet Aluminum Pulley "Razor Style"with bearing 4oz.

Factory Stock Steel Alternator Pulley 7 oz.
Competitors Billet Aluminum Alternator Pulley 3 oz.
RJC Billet Aluminum Alternator Pulley "Razor Style" 2.3oz.

By going to RJC Billet Aluminum Pulleys you can loose over 9 Lbs. of reciprocating weight.
This is equivalent to removing 95 lbs. of non reciprocating weight.

Okay I made this as easy as I could for you.

Here are the specialty tool needed, I have the Snap-On however any decent puller will work.

On the left is the puller used to remove the Old P/S pulley

On the right is the tool used to install the new pulley

Here are pictures of the finished product, I installed the crank pulley last night. Just have to get a belt today as I replaced the under-drive pulley that was on car to Jason's race pulley.

Makes the AC compressor look ugly:(

Funny I am kicking it around, SE Turbo has them for $289.00. The problem is once you start with Chrome, it is like a drug. You cannot stop:D

True. It is a lot of fun. I wanted Mark's chrome windsheild wiper motor cover, but da*n, that is big $$$.

I got my chrome alternator from Kirban's. They told me it was the last one and they weren't selling them any more.

SE has a lot of stuff, but some of their prices seemed kind of high high.

I need to update that pic, becuase I just changed from blue to black and I added more chrome, ceramic coated headers, etc.

I need the radiaor support cover next:
