Is it possable to increase the odometer reading?

I know most odometers have measures to prevent you from rolling them back, how about forward? I it possable to just ratchet the numbers to increase the mileage shown? My daily driver speedometer crapped out, yet the odometer still works so I know the cable is still working. I found a few clusters on ebay for reasonable prices with much lower mileages, I'm wondering if it's possable to turn it up so it matches when I swap them.

why don't you just get them and doccument the milage, if its on an older car i wouldnt' think it woudl be a big deal. if its a new car then maybe you have some problems.

but yes its possible to change them.

I guess I should mention it's on a 94 Toyota Corolla. That's what I put this on the Lounge not the Tech section. I could just document it, but I'd just rather look down and see the true mileage.
