is my tranny toast??

well,its a slug in 1st gear and the rest shift just fine but if i drop it into 1st gear it wont move!it has plenty of fluid but the car was parked for 2 years and i did not service it just added fluid. how much am i lookin at for another one?i do want to get it a little better than stock.What do you guys think?? Thanks:biggrin: or maybe torque converter? i have no idea.
