Is the throttle cable hard to install?

I haven't done one, but they appear to be straight forward. The slack can be taken up by using a few small nuts (say 6-32 size). Cut a slot in them so that it can be slipped over the throttle cable, then crimp them shut. May need to use several to get enough of the slack out so that WOT can be reached.

The nuts go onto the throttle cable at the go-pedal. Pull the cable toward the rear of the car where it goes through the hole in the pedal bracket. Put the nuts on and crimp the slot shut. This will effectively shorten the cable.

Also trying to install a spring on the accelerator to keep it up, instead of it being all lazy and just floppin.

I just pulled the cable some and put a zip tie on the extra to shorten it up. Took about a minute.

Use a 1/16" wire rope saddle clamp.

Or whatever the cable size measures out to be, they're easy to find on ebay, amazon, hardware supply stores etc.

The throttle cable is kind of a bitch to disconnect from under the dash.
Remember, the reason the cable is stretched is because its usually getting ready to snap, so putting spacers of whatever sort is just a bandaide till the enevitable:eek:
