setting up a transmission for a 9 inch converter. i was told by the guy that built my transmission that if i ever wanted to go to a 9 inch to bring the car back and he would set it up for that. he said something about making it shift as hard as possible or something. anyway, i've seen people take a 12 inch converter out of their car and put a 9 inch in there without having to drop the valve body and change anything.

i have a buddy whose car is really fast that has 9/11, and the car thumps gears it doesn't really bump them like my 12 inch does. my car with a 12 inch will break your neck, when he goes to full throttle you can't really feel it shift. did the tranny builder do something wrong. i don't want him to do this to my transmission when i go to a 9 inch. this has been bothering me every since the other night when i rode in my buddy's car and it shifts waaaaaaaaaaaayyy softer than my car does. i don't want that. can i still have my tire chirping shifts with a 9 inch?

a 9 inch will result in the drivers inability to feel gear changes at lo vehicle speed and engine rpm because of the inefficiency of the hydraulic coupling during these operating conditions .if they cant be felt at 45 degrees (half throttle ) to 90 degrees (full throttle)of throtte blade anlgles you have a really useless convertor or an improperly calibrated transmission .we got the 9 11 convertors ,the 10 inchers ,11s and 12v s and the kit that makes em shift rite at all throttle angles www.ckperformance.com
