Anything that is TTA specific. Like headers.. air scoops.. seats.. etc.

Get a low mile one..save yourself the hassle.

TTA89 ran 11.20's@123+ with a TE51 and Injectors with an internally stock motor/trans. Truth be known LOTS of TTA's have run similar numbers with untouched motors and light mods.

Razor's accomplishment is that he has run similar numbers with Alchy and pump gas (hence the ported heads).

MOST of the mods of my 11.53@118 T-type were done by me for zero dollars. I'm pretty sure that with my home ported heads ($350 spent) and a set of 55lb injectors ($250 with chips), my car would run 11.20's@120+ mph and it's not a more aerodynamic TTA.

We've all seen people with 4-5 times as much money/mods in their cars and they don't run as fast. That doesn't mean people who know what they are doing can't.

UNGN, I actually beat his time with a 60 foot thats over a .10 slower. heads work. I got my heads on a trade I did. Its a matter of being at the right place at the rite time. Theyre cost to me was minimal. The 55 lb injectors require a modded ecm :)

We throw money at these cars over the years on nick nacks.. they add up over time.. and usually get great deals when at the rite time/place. I paid 125 for my scanmaster for example.

I agree.. careful planning on mods and theyre procurment can go a very long way.

BTW Mike ran 11.25 at 121 1.588 60 foot

I've been chasing that number for the last three years :D What fun its been.

Look for the board membet ttamesap .. he just ran 11.6 with a TA49 turbo, 50's, and slicks. On alky here at Bradenton a month ago. Stock IC, stock TB, stock suspension, 24 PSI boost.

Thanks for all the input Razor!! Your Alky kit will be my first mod! Gn or TTA! No more SMC:D

Razor,

I didn't mean to sound like I was knocking your ride and I hope you didn't take it that way. Personally, I think your car is running awesome and $$$ spent is not a big concern of mine. When I was done with my 99 GT, I had spent over 20K, but it ran mid 11s in the 120s on straight 93 @ 12 psi and 10s all summer with a few gallons of racegas @ 16+ psi. Plus it was built from end to end & with enough fuel for low 9s.

The GN is coming along, but I miss that 120s trapspeed. I also miss the brakes and handling, but that's another story. I have to find the video of me racing the TTA in the quater. It was beautiful car, but the driver was less than friendly.

As I have heard before:

"It takes an idiot to own a fox body, but it takes a special kind of idiot to enjoy driving/owning one."

 :D :D

I saw GN killer under your name ;)

Do you happen to have a picture of the front mount installed? I don't think I have seen any pictures of a TTA with a front mount.

At least it's got a turbo on it... :)

And yes, every year for the past 3 years I've been doing just that at the Ford/Buick shootout in OK.

If it's stock, sounds logical to me.

Stock TTA does 0-100 in about 13 seconds. Even with the good aerodynamics, 130 would take some time.
Hahhaha. Sorry, but I had to laugh. Obviously you've never been in a TTA!

That 30 second to 130mph claim is total BS!! The TTA pushes you in the seat like no other from high speed to HIGHER speed. It's the plain truth...take it from someone who owned a totally stock one.

NO ONE makes the radiator hoses. You simply can't get replacements and have to cut GN hoses and those don't fit right.

When I had mine you couldn't get engine mounts either. Many owners report having trouble getting the correct replacement belts since the car isn't listed in most automotive parts books. The engines ARE subtly different than a GN motor as is the transmission. You can't get the Austrailian 3.27 rear gear anymore either in case you pop the pig. Emblems were a huge problem but now an outfit is making GM authorized repros. I know more things will come to mind later on.

I'll say this about the TTA. It was the most fun I ever had on four tires! The car is astounding and I've been in new LS1's etc. The TTA was in a class all by itself. You'll have a rough ride, engine vibration, squeaks, rattles, no trunk, poor leather interior, bad stereo and very little recognition from the performance car community. That is until you run 12 second or faster 1/4 mile times OR dust anything at a traffic light.

My old TTA ran a 12.93 @ 105 mph with only 3 mods, on stock street radial tires and pulled a 1.83 60'. I may get another one sometime when the time is right. The car was just too much fun.....

Is the TTA Trans better/worse that the Gn's BFR??
It's the same model which is the 200-4R but I'm not familiar enough to say it's better or worse. I know the TCC solonoid goes bad just like the GN tranny. The TTA tranny is stamped specifically as a TTA unit and I believe it's "reprogrammed" for the TTA motor....whatever that means. I believe the casting may be different as well to accomodate a longitudinal or torsional bar the TTA has that runs from the tranny to the rear end. I don't believe the GN has this. This is all from memory so I may not be 100% correct in the details but I know they're internally different in a few small ways.

A buddy of mine who had a TTA put a GN tranny in as a replacement and had some problems.

The drivetrains are the same, but different if that makes any sense.

Thanks to John Percy from www.johnsperformance.com you can find many hard to find TTA specific items like the radiator hoses (he just started selling a limited amount of them). Pretty much anything TTA specific that you're having trouble finding call him he might know somewhere to get it.

Old thread here...

But I have done some testings with my TTA with a G-tech pro RR.

Here is a pic with the results.

As you see will these engines wake up tremendously with a couple of mods.
Boost was 18 psi on 93 octane.

Notice my bad 60 feet at 2.40...

Mods in sign, street tires.

Daniel
