Ive got a turbo that came with a . 82 exhaust housing, will putting a .63 on it cause any issues (there are no clearance issues) that i should consider? would it be better just to keep the .82 on since that is what the exhaust wheel is tailored to??

thanks

the turbo is a te60, as far as the exhaust trim I am unsure, to be honest this is really just a bandaid untill I have enough saved up to buy a new turbo, the exhaust housing orginally was a .63 untill i blew the 60. Then i bought a new turbo off of ebay and it had a .82 on it. that turbo blew so what i now have is a hybrid with a .82 wheel in on a te60 compressor

I dont see any issues. I current have a TE60 with a 63 housing. If you want to sell the .82 exhaust housing, let me know. My TE60 would love to have the 82 ;)

Post some pics to verify you have a TE60.

The issue is that you will lose about 20hp but gain spool up.

My bad I always assume PTE is the exhaust housing on every GN car.

If you go from the Garrett .82 to a PTE .63 you probably won't lose any power since PTE's AR ratio's promote better flow.

Now if you go to the PTE .85 you will definitely gain some power over the Garrett .82 exhaust housing.

If this is a street car, you may like the .63 better, the fsmaller size makes faster spooling and more responsive to boost. The .82 will have higher HP potential flowing better, but you sacrifice down low non stalled throttle response. If you are racing only, stall it up and .82 will be fine and gain HP.
I'd try the .63 and have a street terror.
I'd do the .82 on a car that sees more track time.
What are your plans?
