i have a 1972 skylark gs that threw a rod the other night, i was on forums hawaii asking and they said to post here too so i figured it couldn't hurt (other than hearing some non turbo heckling ) it had a 350 all stock 4bbl (haggered but running) odometer had 75k prolly was 175k though. motor is thrashed entire front driver corner is hanging off. so im asking around to find preferably a buick 350 a 455 would be nice but a bit more work and as a last resort a chebby. my dad has a motor back home but will be about $1300 to ship. i believe the 350 went basically unchanged from 68-80 with stuff like smog and that crap added getting into 73 (could be wrong feel free to correct) thanx for any assistance or points in the right direction

yes im part of v8 and i just posted there today thanx for the suggestion im just covering all bases and a valid suggestion from their board which seems very feasible here on hawaii is a 3.8 carbuerated so ill see waht i can do thanx again for your help

Welcome to the TB.com board!! Feel free to post in the Hawaii section too!! All of us Hawaii guys stick together and help one another. I know that Nelson (aka OLDSCHOOL) has a regal that is Buick 455 powered so he may know where to get your hands on one. Also, not all 3.8's are carbureted. The 84 and up GN's and T-types are fuel injected. Good luck!!
