To begain with this is pretty cool and after only one dyno run the car put down 579 RWHP / 526 TQ. at the DynoStore on 13 May 2006.

This was a last minute decision as I meet up with some other fellow Turbo Buick friends at the DynoStore here in SoCal for some dyno pulls. I didn't want to do any pulls do to the fact I didn't prepare the car, mostly because of the methanol that's been in the resivore for the past 2 months out in the Arizona sun, YUMA to be exact while on military det..

Anyway, WikedGN said it should be ok as it shouldn't have went bad, well I didn't want to chance it. I said if I do dyno it I at least would like to get some race gas and drain out the pump gas. Well WikedGN and I went out on a little road trip for my quest which I thought was going to be some 110-116 octance gas, but in stead, we pull into this gas station where they have 101 octane on tab. I was pretty nervous at that point but then said ok and decided to get 5 gallons of 101 and mix it with my half tank of 91 and just run methanol. Taking WikedGN's word that it was still good.

Anyway, we get back I put the 101 in the tank, shake the car around for a few seconds to mix the fuel up. I go visually check the engine for anything out of the norm and to be safe, turn down the boost on the first run. So I thought! Stay tuned  Well I then start the car and take it over to the dyno....still nervous at this point by the way. The car then gets tied down, I'm in the passenger seat to monitor the gauges while the tech runs through his systems check ect. Tech starts the car, I roll up the passenger side window due to the fact I know how loud this this car is, I then smile at spectators out side the rope watching and then were off.

Tech starts giving it gas.....at 2200 Rpm all hell breaks loose! Tech holds gas pedal to the floor, I go deaf, spectators go deaf...tech takes foot off of pedal but throttle sticks wide open  WTF I'm scared, Tech is scared and spectators are hauling butt out the building.....then we shut it down by a flick of a wrist, turned the ignition key to the off position. Turns out my throttle cable is bad which in turn caused the jam.

Anyway fellas, I'm just happy we got it shut down. I still do not know how much boost I was running as my manual boost controller is bad and the Tech and I were jumping through the loops to get this thing turned off. Up to the point the Tech took his foot off the pedal there was no knock.... what so ever, this really surprised me! I'm happy.

We (SoCal) guys called it a day and drove around 120 mile back home. Sorry so long, and this was compacted :p

Haha no reason to crap your pants...you can always just turn the car off on a dyno. I've seen too many retards panic in various situations and forget to just kill the ignition.

Dale, I bought the short block off a guy from Lake Stevens, WA (turbobill) a member on this board. It was a very good deal $1800! He had a whole lot more invested in it and it was put together from a well know engine builder from that area that builds nascar engines ect. I did my home work and with a little help from Nick Micale (ArizonaGN), I got everything running, it started up on the first try so you can imagine how happy I was :) Beginners luck I guess, had to learn sometime as this is my third Turbo Buick, LOL! Sure does save a lott of money in the long run. More importantly, I could not have done it without the knowledge that others have posted on this site....Thanks Guys!

The car is still for sale, but I'm not in a big hurry to get rid of it due to my PCS orders changing. I will now be departing sometime in October, so if I do sale it I am asking $9000 for it outright. Take care.
