Since I brought my car home, The shifter in my car has been a problem on my car. Last Fall, I bought a used shifter assembly from Intercooled88 to replace the butchered one that came with my car. Quite the improvement, But it has still always made a lot of noise when I would shift it into gear- So loud that people could hear me shift into gear while standing outside my car.

Using the Factory Service Manual CD that I bought from a member here, I discovered that there were parts missing from the shifter linkage under the car. I was missing the spring, washer, and bushing that goes on the end of the cross shaft under the car (that has to do with the steering wheel/column lock). I ordered the parts from my dealer, picked them up yesterday and installed them. Shifts like a new car now, with zero noise, klunks and rattles.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I DROVE MY CAR FOR A YEAR SHIFTING LIKE THIS WHEN ALL IT TOOK WAS $5.06 IN PARTS THAT TOOK ME ONLY 5 MINUTES TO INSTALL!!!!

These Buicks are going to drive me crazy, I swear............ :D

Dont be suprised at what you find on any car you did not own since it was new. Ive found all kinds of BS. Bolts left out, un-fused wires nearly shorted to ground, butt connected wires all over the cars, rounded off fasteners, wrong parts, missing parts, wiring nightmares, leaks (inside the car and everywhere else that could leak), and improperly installed brake components. Ive seen even more BS inside engines, transmissions, and rears. All because some dumb ass was in there.
