At racer discount or regular Summit/Jegs pricing?

It depends.. Summit and Jegs have gutted the performance aftermarket. A lot of stuff we buy, we dont even make 10% on. To give you a good example, this cylinder head, Ford Racing M-6050-P46 - Ford Racing 4.6L Performance Improvement Cylinder Heads, Summit sells it for $409.00. I pay $388 for it.

So I mean, really, how much can I discount it? $399 and then I make $11.00 on it? By the time Mastercard gets their 3% Ive lost 97 cents on selling it.

Suggested retail on this item is $450.00. At that price, you can make a little but since Summit is selling it so cheap, people will just buy from Summit and then go elsewhere for tech support. Every day I have people calling me with Buick questions that have never spent a dime with me. Sometimes I spend upwards of an hour on the phone with some of them, they dont buy anything from us and Im troubleshooting something they bought elsewhere for cheap and cant get support on.

So to answer your question, some stuff can maybe be discounted a little but most stuff, there just isnt any markup in it to begin with. You can buy from us and support a Buick vendor or you can buy it somewhere else $10.00 cheaper and use us for free tech support as long as we stay in business.

Understand completely. I'm a locksmith by trade and I can't compete with Home Depot or Lowe's on the stuff that we both sell. Actually a customer came in yesterday and the part they wanted was a non stock item for me. I pay about $8 less than what HD sells it for. What are you gonna do? I keep customers because of service (which is what you're doing with the free tech here) It keeps customers coming back. Thankfully.

Yeah but you have to call them for orders after I submit a application, pic of my car and copy of my Racers license. Why do they need a pic of my car ?

Not with Jegs. They sought me out. Punched in a access code on a specific link and thats it.

Nope, they have a special website that you log in. Once you log in, all the prices are racer discount. :p

I just had to call them up first to enroll, they told me to fax a copy of my NHRA license and they sent a confirmation that I was enrolled.

I have learned the hard way. I do most of my non Buick specific parts through 2 local speed shops.

or
Door Cars

I have found that once you get a relationship with your local speed shop, you get 2 things... #1 about the same price as the parts whores #2 you know who you are dealing with should a problem arise. do you think someone from summit will say just bring your car over & we will get this issue resolved? not just not but hell no!!
