I called a friend to see how he made out at the Citrus Nationals as I was busy with Christmas decorations. He told me of the mishap, but was too busy with his program to know exactly what had happened. Always sad to see bad things like this happen....:(

Definitely sad to hear about that Mike! Unfortunately I can not say I'm surprised considering the "track record" of the facility this happened at:mad:

I went out yesterday, the rain showed around 2:30 for about 30 or 40 minutes. It shut the track down till after 7:00, they postponed all bracket racing and quick 16 until today so the jets and NHRA classes could run.

NHRA had a really nice jet to dry the track, too bad they didn't bring any fuel. I think they had to make a run to P.B.I.A. for fuel....:D
" OK!!!!!! WHO DROVE THE JET DRIER LAST "

Things were still wet from the 5 day in most areas, I think it may take some help to get the trailer out. We unhooked the truck last night and pulled it out.

Your right though, they have a good facility, if they would just fix the track. Which maybe easier said than done. Allways remember to demuck before you start your projects. I've been hearing next year for so long, it's just a running joke.

Susan knows what needs to be done to fix the track, but I think they will build condos on that land before she will actually do what needs to be done! In any event it looks like his parachutes did not deploy after the traps, here is the story on sun-sentinel~

wow:frown: ...saw the car at NED a few times ..

Yeah I'm pretty sure I might've seen this car run at Moroso last year during the same event (Citrus Nats) as I seem to remember the car name "Firepower". Really is ashame especially for his family/friends, but at least he went doing what he obviously loved.

According to my friend the Post Times was pretty close. Something must have broke or a hell of a wind gust, but he just ran off the track on the big end, started rolling and was ejected. My prayers go out to his family...

very sad news. at least he went doing something he loved
