ok guys recently it was brought to my attention that a couple blocks away I can buy av gas its called which is anyhwere from 104-110 octane
its only $2 a gallon
but the tank right next to it which is jet fuel
the jet fuel is rated at 180 octane
now I know if I put the jet fuel in by itself there is a risk of the octane being too much and blowing the car
but say I put in 2 gallons to the rest being 93-93 octane?
that would give me a high octane rating on a ful tank

I calculated that if I used 1 gallon of jet fuel to the 17.1 gallons of 94 and it brings the octane rating for the whole tank to 98 and change

anyone have any ideas?

by the way how many gallons does the car actually hold?
everyone told me its about 18 but when I was at the gas station last time it filled 19.2 gallons

thanks

Carl

Jet Fuel is Kerosene (similar to Diesel). Avoid it like the plague.

damn man you just shattered my dreams

I was thinking it was going to be so easy to get that **** and have a high octane on such a small amount of it

The av gas is a pretty good deal if you can get it, though. It's leaded, so it will eventually eat your O2 sensor, but for Octane per dollar, its hard to beat.

Do y'all run straight av gas?
How do you go about getting it?

The local airport here has a pay-at-the-pump deal. You roll your "Cessna" up to it, swipe, pump, and go. My flight instructor told me that you needed the N number from an airplane. If so, turn around, and pick a number from about 30 planes, DUH! BTW, I haven't pumped any in my car yet.

i have run it straight and mixed. havent ruined an 02 yet either. i go to a tech school right by a private airport they have a pay at the pump deal. take a 5 gal jug or 2, u cant pull ur gn up to the pump. i've been stopped twice and they ppl just said i didnt see u do this, we didnt have this convo. he also said we could get in some decent trouble. dont do it if there are guys in yellow/orange trucks out there.HTH

how many times have you run straight av. gas? i was looking into it but i was worried about the O2 and the fact that its leaded. do you know if all av. gas is leaded?

It's 100LL, low lead, don't know how that compared to the amount of lead we once got for cars.

AV gaz is low lead and I usually replace the o2 eveary 2 season with a mixture of 50/50 and on top you have a nice smell coming out the exhaust. That's really good stuff if you cannot afford Race gaz. But you have to be moderate in turning the boost up, even with a 50/50 mixture equaling to 98 Octane. ;)
