Just wanted to throw this out there but when I first got into turbo cars back in the 90s. I started out with a 90 Honda CRX Si with a J Spec ZC engine. Its was pretty quick for back then considering stock the little 4 banger came with 170HP plus I added a DIY T3 setup from a Saab 9000 donor car. That setup netted me 240 HP. That's not a lot in comparison to a TR but it was a really fun project I put together as an autoshop project back in 11th grade. My question considering the economy and all...has anyone ever found a donor Turbo car at the junkyard and applied it to a TR with any positive success? My only assumptions are that I could see as possible candidates may be turbos from diesel trucks.

turbine housing too big.

Not much out there for us.

Can't think of any single turbo appllications on small displacement to make 400HP?

Either cars had twins or turbo too small.

went to a junkyard with my friend (he needed a small fusebox for some accessories in his '87 wrangler) last week, and searched the whole damn place for a turbo considering they only charge $25.00 for the turbo, and $15 for an intercooler,

finding things in the junkyard is tricky, i know this very well. i've yet to find a turbo, but i did find a supercharger with manifold and thottle body for a fwd 3800.
