Is it true that some were in the nineties that some of the grand nationals were banned from drag racing. is just since im a neewbee my friend told me this is this true????thanx in advance.
Yes, it's true. I just can't remember his name. But the big block guys were ticked at him and wined and complained to NHRA to kick off the turbocharged V6. I have the johnny lightning model of his car, but I just can't think of his name now.
If you are refering to Buddy Ingersol's Pro Stock Regal/Cutlas, that was back in the 80's and yes, they did ban turbos from Pro Stock.

Buddy was like the Grandfather of Turbo regals. He was in the 7's back in the day and shutting down those 6 and 7 hundred cubic inch monsters. They eventually got him barred from NHRA. He went to AHRA and led the pack there for a while, then they too got scared and ruled him out. Wonder what he's doing now.
