Just changed from stock wheels to weld draglites
Since I decided to put my TTA back stock I traded my TTA suspension pieces to a friend with a big block iroc for a set of wheels. They are weld draglites. The stock rims and tires 225/65 weigh in at 46.01 #'s each . The rear welds (15 X10, 4.5BS) with 275/65 radial T/A's (the heaviest tire known to man) tipped the scales at 47.21#. The fronts (5" with 195/65 radial T/As ) are 31.48 each. I saved a grand total of 26#. For that weight savings I get to drive around on some of the ugliest wheels they are, and slow down for every corner. I think that I'll switched back to my stock wheels. For comparison the front wheels on my old mustang (3.5" bogart force five and 24" MT front runners ) only went 17.5#. Also as a side note the draglight 15X10 5.5BS with a 28 X 10.5 MT slick weighed 33.63#. You just cant beat a drag tire (front or back ) for saving weight.
