I changed the fluid and filter yesterday. I pushed the new filter in until it stopped. I really didn't use any force. Was this all I was suppose to do? Sorry for the dumb question :o but this was my first time doing this and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't suppose really push it in there with force so it "locked" in place. Does the trans pan hold the filter in place?

Thanks,

Rob

at the other end of the filter attached to the valvebody is a clip that holds the back end in....u did replace the seal also right?

Make sure you got the old seal off with the old filter. Sometimes it will stick in the hole.

And the back end of the filter isn't held up by the clip although you'd think so...the clip thingy pushes the back end of the filter down into the fluid so don't slip the filter under the clip, just let the filter push up against it.
