I just put everything back together, and the car wont start. I get code 23,but thats because the sensor isnt hooked up...

Any ideas? The car feels like it wants to start, it sputs and sputs and the voltage drops, but nothing. I tried jumping it..and got nothing.

Right now everything isnt secure..like the pipes n whatnot, its just at the point where it could possibly start(the engine, that is).

I think I put the coil on wrong...what way is the coil supposed to be showing?

135 towards the front of the engine bay?

Any ideas on this?

while its not important wether you have odds or evens in the front it is important the right wires go to each coil pac.

1-3-5 front would be wrong

see if you can get it to work with this layout
1-5-3 rear (#3 by connector)
4-2-6 front (#6 by connector)

btw if you look really close at the bottom edge of each coil below each tower youll see the cylinder #'s

cyl 1 is the front right, right?

so i need to pull the coilpack off,and switch the underneath connecters as well, right?

how do the connecters go again?

call me please. 925-570-0113. Ill be so pissed if this dont work.(at myself, not you)

yes #1 cylinder is front driverside

cylinders are

6-5
4-3
2-1

as you would see them from front of car

ill send you a coil pac diagram , It wouldnt show when i tried to attach to post.

Ok, it started, and then coolant starting shooting out the number 6 cylinder head.

It looks like there is a hole for coolant to pass into rocker assembly area on the head... It spewed coolant all down the back of the engine.and then i noticed another ground that isnt hooked up..

So what could cause the coolant to comeout of the head?

Probaby your intake gasket (valley pan) water passage isn't sealed. I run a bead of silicone around each of the water passages on the gasket. Sounds like you'll have to pull the intake manifold and seal it.

I did that though.thats the thing.
I put it on both sides of the gasket too..

this is so weak..

can i just put in some silicone to cover up the hole?or will that make it leak into the valley?

Sorry for an off subject post but 925....thats by me(510). Sometime when u get her on the road you have to bring her up to grizizley peak!

Will do!

Now if I can just figure this out....

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Ok I got two more codes..

42, and 32. My EGR isnt properly hooked up I dont think, and the guy who is helping me w/ this said the EGR is bad, so thats prolly why I got one of those codes.

The timing code is what I dont get..I just installed a Trans +, so maybe that has to do w/ it?

There is also a ground wire I missed on the back of the head that may have to do with it..

BUT I fixed my coolant problem! My dad didnt tighten down this one hose..

Is the Trans+ new? I saw a lot of posts regarding a code 42 and the translater when I was chasing my code 42. A lot of Trans+/code 42 issues were caused by a bad wire splice. If you are getting a code 42 your should run, but poorly.

Sounds about right. I did one crappy wire job. I need to solder/heat shrink it before the car goes back together.
