Just finished installing a front mount intercooler and air bags so I took the GN to atco tonight to see what she will do now. Could not get the tires to hook up like I wanted. Only got 2 runs in. I had to leave early. First run jumped the light got no time. Second run did a 12.4 at 106 mph. On my way to 11's one mod at a time.

Hey Tony. Are you really part of the Luke family? If so you make hella good pork samwiches!! :)

Let me answer each question one at a time. The tires were 275/15/50 drag radials.... No the track was not busy It was suppose to rain so very few cars showed up.....And yes me, my father and my brother started Tony Lukes 10 years ago. and my brother Nicky is the one who makes all the pork.

Good deal on the drag radials, you posted a good time/mph combo so I take it your 60' times were good too? I may be going down there this weekend with my new DR's and hopefully I get better 60 foots than last time (1.9)

Are these pork sandwiches a south jersey thing? If Frank says they're good I'll have to try one. :)

Roast pork with sharp provolone, you're good to go, i feel a craving coming on, thanks....now i have to get one :D:D:D:D

Tony or me? There's a recent post about Cal Hartline running 9's on them so they should hook!

I'm curious about your launch too. With 275 DR's you should have a pretty darn good launch. I'm surprised you had traction problems... with a 106 mph car, you're probably putting out good power, but not disgusting power that I would think it woudl take to spin the 275 DRs a lot.

Then to me, Nicky is god.. lol
I live near the old shop u guys had in the NE.

The stock turbo can turn 275's very easily. My question was for tonylukejr. 12.4@ 106 is hooking very good IMO with DR's. Hell I ran 13.2 @106 my first time out, I kept spinning them about 30ft out. I now have boxed control arms and an airbag but blew a HG on my first pass. I still smoked them at 30ft. I would like to know what suspension mods Tony has so one day I can grow up to be like him and actually hook:D

I didn't think there was THAT much or a difference between slicks and the BFG DRs. Jeez. I run small slicks now, Hoosiers (I think 8.5 or 9" wide...not all that wide) and I really don't spin at all. I MAY have slipped one of them for a second after launch but I couldn't really tell.
Anyway, I was thinking of going to BFG DRs for the car all of the time so I wouldn't have to haul the darn slicks to the track and change the wheels, etc etc...it's a pain. But, my car is now a solid high 11's at 115 car...(on slicks at least). Now you have me nervous about the DR's  sigh

I can leave about a 30' patch with them if I get it right:D

They are ok for daily driving, better than a regular radial. But if you punch it on a corner watch it because the ditch comes up very fast:eek:

I have 275/50 BFG's

Hmm, maybe I go with Mickey Thompson ET Streets then?? I do drive teh car around for pleasure MUCH more than I race it (never in teh rain unless I get rained on at a show)...so I don't know if the ET Streets are a dumb move. I just HATE lugging wheels in teh trunk and changing them at the track! By the time I do that, drain the crap gas, put in good gas, change the boost, blah blah blah, it takes me over an hour!!
Oh, then I worry about morons stealing my GN wheels the whole time. I try to chain them together or to a fence...but..

r/t ..... .321 60.......1.7 330.....5.0 1/8......7.8 mph.....86
990......10.2 1/4.....12.4 mph.......106

Those are the track times. Thanks for all the kind words about the sandwiches. We try to do our best.

Thanks
Tony

Well, a 1.7 60' is great. I expected worse with any bad tire slipping. I get 1.78 on my SLICKS (stock converter, leaving around 4 lbs. I expect I'll be around 1.6 leaving at 2-3 lbs with my new 2800-3000 stall).

I just drive my slicks to the track :D I might try some drag radials soon though. Yeah Cal Hartline went 9.30's this weekend on Drag radials. Later,Frank
