Im new to this igntion, and have no clue what to do. Anyone chime in here, but please ignore my stupidity.:D

you did order the coil pack adaptor, didn't you? If not, get out your wire splice tools (not recommended...)

I have it. Plug it in and go. You can play around with plug gaps but thats about it. The computer in your car cannot be overidden as far as timing, heck I can't even get the rev limiter to work! The chip is in control, all you get is more power in the ignition. Stock works fine. What I'm trying to say is it's pretty much a waste of money! Looks cool though:D

plugs don't foul as fast on leaded gas and you can open the gap up....the rev limiter does work...other than that.....

dont foul as fast?? new plugs every 150-200 miles is a pain n the butt. i dont know but it woud take a lot of plugs to make the dis-4 worth the money.

As others have said....open up your plug gap.

Use the 2 step lower limit for launching...the high to save your engine from over reving.

In order to use the 2 step for launching you must have a momentary switch to supply a ground to one of the wires. I have mine coming off the transbrake switch so when the brake is applied the 2 step lower limit is in effect.

To keep the engine at it's lower rpm limit the spark is cut to different cylinders. This also puts lots of unburned fuel/oxygen into the exhaust so the O2 sensor is goofy.

On mine with the wide band I simply have the O2 sensor inactive until after I launch. For you with your Lubrant chip, I don't think there will be a problem as I believe he locks the BLM at 128 at WOT and since you're sitting on the line with WOT and the 2 step is activate the ECM won't be trying to correct the mixture.

I and a few other have reported instances where we think the MSD box is screwing up and making the engine miss at higher rpm. So far I've not been able to confirm with any certainty if mine is acting up as I've had problems with coilpak/modules. Just be aware.

I'ved tried gapping it at .40 and .45 it slow my car down. I have all the dip switches on off so just using the mulitple spark discharge feature.

Ok, I'm a little confused on the gapping thing, you mean that since theres more power coming from the distributor you can run more gap? Main reason I got this system is for the rev limiting. What do you recommend as far as rpms to limit the engine at? Oh and by the way, I am converting to Accel DFI before all of this so it wont be the stock computer running it. Is that all it is? Plug and go?

I think if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have wasted my money on the DIS-4....the two step rev limiter is only useable up to 3,000 rpm on my car....if I turn it up to say, 4,000 it pops and sputters.....I like to launch harder than 3,000 (that's about 10 lbs of boost on my car)

it is plug & play....only switch you have to set is "waste spark", max rpm, and launch rpm (if you use it)

Let me add, if you are only interested in rev limiting, the ACCEL DFI has a setting for that, at least the older CALMAP software did.

waste spark is the type of ignition we have...3 coils means you fire two cylinders at once and only one is making power, thus the waste spark
