Just how does a torque converter work ?

This is something that's missed and would like for the experts to chime in please . One of the most important parts to our cars to make them perform .

Keith, if the search is working there's a ton of info from Dusty, Lonnie and all the other top transmission guys that posted here years ago. I'm fairly certain they left cuz of the BS they were taking from know it alls, unfortunately. I cut my teeth about convertors from Dustys posts.

I actually worked in the summers and after school at TCI Transmissions in Ashland , MS as a kid , mid to late 80's and I did various things as in tearing down old / burnt up trannys ( That's a mess from hell ) and cutting open old converters to be re stalled and built into new ones . It always was very interesting how they worked . How the fins being bent ever so much could change the stall speed .
