I saw the "man in black" at the Sport Compact SpringNationals at Englishtown and he was helping put his tune on a serious "modern" race car.

I had approached Kenny in the staging lanes during an on-track oildown (quite common at these events). He had a surprised look on his face when I had asked him to autograph a 1:18 scale diecast Buick T-Type that I had brought with me. He obliged and fondly remembered driving a similar car waaaaay back in 1985. He was very gracious and I would have loved to talk to him more but he had to get back to work.

It's great to see that he is still passionate about making cars go VERY fast, no matter what brand they are.

Chuck,

I met Ken at his shop in CA years ago, great guy and great shop, obviously he is legendary with the Buicks and can make anything go fast.

It was nice of him to sign the model. They paid him a ton of money to fly out and tune cars at Etown this weekend. I woulda went down to watch but was stuck in the rains of Norwalk.

Talk to you soon Chuck.

Ken Duttweiler can build almost any kind of engine with a turbo:
-Buick v-6 with 1600HP
-Caddy v-6 with 1000HP
-SBC and SBF with 2000HP plus
-BBC with 3000HP

Out of all the Car Gurus that have an attitude but don't deserve one. Ken has no attitude but probably should!

If you go to his shop he will answer all your questions with out trying to make you feel lame. Some others could take lessons from Ken or Dale Carnegie!

I remember going to lunch with Ken and Ron Fruchey about 7 years ago. My friend and I were treated just like friends not annoying customers.

Kenny is "good people"!!!

Actually, Big D also. He is pictured in many Datsun 510 performance books. Much younger looking of course...
