Last night I was coming home from a friend’s house at about 11:30 PM. I could see something with those god fake HID blue headlights...thought to myself: “this could be fun”. He tried to charge past me. As soon he made it to my door I rolled into the throttle and walked away from him. The t-type has nothing down low with the big CPT-66 and stock torque convertor but once it spools it gets down and moves.
So I walked away from that first time, and then slowed back down to the speed limit...about 45. I watched him in my rearview mirror make another charge so I let him get past me the second time before I rolled it to the floor and charged past him. I just wanted to make my point clear: you don't got what it takes.
I never did make out what kind of car it was but I heard his turbo...it was a really nice night so I had the a/c off and windows down. Like I said I never did make out what kind of car it was. The passenger rolled down his window after the second time and yelled out "hey is that an old T-Type?" We were back to the speed limit by then so I yelled back "yep". He said that he used to have a T back in the day and complimented the car. I think they turned into the Sonic drive-in. I shoulda followed them to see what the import was...but I was too damn tired and just wanted to get home.
Earlier in the day I was messing with a Suzuki GXSR. I didn't catch if it was 750 or 1000cc bike. Either way with crappy stock size tires and factory TC in the trans I'm pretty sure he could have stomped me. But I figured what the hey...lets see anyways. He never really took the bait though.
I walked away from the bike at a red light then slowed down to under the speed limit to let him catch up. After the bike caught up he make a run from a 40 mph roll during which I stayed right next to him...like I said I don't think he gave me everything he had. But the biker was checking out the Buick pretty hard after that run. I backed it down the speed limit (55) the bike slowed down and swung behind me and came up on the other side (we were on a six lane divided highway) checking out the T-Type.
All in All, Saturday was a really fun day! I've only had the T for 3 months and slowly building it up...and I drive a 96 escort as my DD...Needless to say almost every green light equals WOT blasts to the speed limit.
