SignUp Now!Just give it time....we will soon be saying Kimbo who??????
And for the record, i never said that none of this wasn't entertaining. A fight is a fight. People will stop to watch a fight anytime, no matter who it is. So did I find it entertaining, yes.........partly because of Thompson's mini-me on his ear. I just don't think it's fair to other "talented" fighters that Kimbo can walk in and receive the praise for being a terrible fighter like he is............
You are so wrong with this thinking.........people are interested now because he is new, that's all. Once he loses, which is inevitable, no one will want to pay to see him anymore.........some of the best MMA fighters that have lost time and time again are no longer croud draws........Mirco Crop Cop was put out on his ass by the UFC because he lost 4 fights in a row.......people loved this guy but he was no longer competition for anyone.......just give it time and you will come back and tell me I am right![]()

John you beat me to it! Cro Cop lost 2 fights..and had a meh victory over Sanchez (his first fight in the UFC) he lost to Gonzaga and Kongo. He won his last 2 fights in Pride against Barnett and Wandy
But excobraguy has it on the money...once he loses he will be forgotten, and EliteXC will crumble. But unlike Cro Cop Kimbo wont have the record Cro Cop has...Think Kimbo will ever be able to beat Igor, Aleks, Barnett, Mark Coleman, Randleman..just to name a few
I think not,
Joshua
And don't forget the guy is 34 years old already............his career is over and he doesn't even know it. And to those who's saying, "Yeah but he's making a ton of money now, wouldn't you?" Sure I would, but Kimbo will be another another Tyson or any of those lottery winners that file bankruptcy a year later.......... is there a kimbosucks.com website ????? I need to start one for the no talent piece of internet fighting garbage that he is. Yeah, real role model and I can't believe people are respecting the guy for getting where he is.........he made a living as a porno body guard....nice!!!!!!![]()

Personally I think Kimbo gives hope and inspiration to all that may have started down the wrong path. He has shown that whatever your skills may be there is a legitimate place to use them to earn you an honest living. Furthermore he is teaching us this lesson through his own actions. He is the living example of the American dream. I can't wait for his book to come out. He is a man of integrity. Maybe his greatest body of work is that he is showing that young black men can maintain their toughness and still love and provide for their children. Lord knows there is a plague going on in the lower income communities called 'Fatherless Children'. These children often grow into the problems of our community. These children who never knew the guidance and love of a father think that it is soft or weak to give such love and guidance to their children. Kimbo is certainly putting a dent in the belief that being a good father makes you a punk. A belief that seems to run rampant in the lower income communities. I'm rooting for Kimbo.

That is a great point... I got a bad taste in my mouth over him for the street brawls with the Porn Kings, but I always said he would stop when someone was hurt so he wasn't a monster.... I always thought he was in it for the $$. I just hate how much those holes made off of him... If he gets in the UFC he needs alot more trainging.
I want to see Tyson vs Kimbo in a boxing match. I got my money on MIKE:biggrin:
yeah, just like he stopped when he was fighting that dude "adryan" in one of the youtube videos. Guy waves it off and says he's done and kimbo decides to lay him out with a hook from behind.
Nasty wendy, you have to be kidding me. You think this guy is a role model? What this is telling young black men is that street level violence is to be rewarded. 6 children and no wife, fighting people in back yards for money, and being a body guard for the porn industry is hardly role model material.
Instead of coming up through the ranks like a Randy Couture who served his country in the Army for 6 years, was a collegiate and Olympic wrestler, a collegiate level wrestling coach... you think a thug off the street that says "Thats now a n*gga eats" after he knocks someone out is role model material?
It's his apparent fulfillment of American negative Black stereotypes that makes him as popular as he is. You can pretty much sum up his fan base's sentiment about him with "he keepin' it real!"
If you want role models you should be looking for engineers, doctors, architects, etc. If you want a fighter to admire I would keep looking Kimbo is far from it.
Glad you see my point. Yes he needs tons more training and conditioning.
Quit focusing on all the negatives. Ease up and enjoy life. Kimbo has transcended street fighting. He is showing others that may want to street fight or that are streetfighting that the money is in the legitimate arenas. His fulfillment of negative black stereotypes is only half of his story. That negative half is why his example can reach a communtiy of people that desperately needs to see that a black man can break out of the thug life and be sucessful. The other half is still being written but the second half starts with a bad egg(black thug) seeing the light of doing things the right way. The people his example can reach could never be reached by an architect, doctor, or engineer. Besides that how many doctors, architects, or engineers are looked up to as role models by any of the children in the free world? Athletes are our childrens' biggest role models and the more popular the athlete is the more children he influences. Imagine Kimbo doing a MTV Cribs show. After he shows off the type of home that would make any thug happy he could say I used to fight just to eat but now I'm legit and this is how a N*gga LIVES.
