Kirban's T-Top Anti Rattle kit

Just purchased Kirban's T-Top anti rattle weatherstrips. The only instructions say to replace the originals. Mine has no foam strips like this...just the factory gasket. I've done a search but can't find any info as to where to locate/position these? Do they go on the body? On the glass?

The go on the body, inside of the T-Top weatherstrips. Start at front at the A pillar, and just place on the body next to the existing weatherstrips, about
1/8-1/4" away from the weatherstrip, pull the tape off the anti rattle strips, and lay it down around the top opening, towards the center, then to the rear, then out to the side again. In a "u" shape, if you will. Then do the passenger side.

At the rear, there is really no body metal available to stick the foam to - do you apply it to the plastic interior trim?...that's about all that's there, at the rear.

The factory anti-rattle strip was more of an "L" shape.

Does those strips stop leaks in any way? Or are they just to help the T-Top not rattle. Do a search on some T-Top TR's. Plenty of pics to give you an idea on how to apply them.

Ross, I'm glad you rechecked with me...I was wrong....gsgns4me is absolutely right, the anti-rattle strip is "L" shaped. I just went out into the garage and looked at mine on the Grand National.

Start at the INSIDE edge of the T-Top opening, about 1/16" from the inside edge, beginning on the driver's side opening side and run it towards the center of the car, then down towards the rear. You will then terminate this strip here. The "L" shape that gsgns4me is referring to. Then do the passenger side.

I apologize for mis-information...my garage is separate from our house, about 75 yards away, and a raging storm was going on last night when I tried to answer your question....I was going outside to the garage to check but lightning and hard rain was too much. I'm really sorry, just glad you asked again. I'll try to be more diligent next time, and double check my anwers. But you are right, there's no place at the rear edge to place the anti-rattle strip.

Yeah, they help somewhat in keeping the rattling down. Your best bet to keep the T-Top rattle and flexing down is to install Dennis Kirban's rear seat x-bracing, the front under carriage bracing and the inner fender bracings. They really help in this matter.

You're welcome, Ross. Glad you put up that guy's GN, I remember it being for sale last year. It was one beautiful car. Mine is "almost" that good of shape. Getting there. And was glad you could see how the anti-rattle strip goes on the roof. Pictures are a lot better than my wanker explainations.
