I'm seeing some strange, or at least surprising, readings on my T-Type - the knock gauge will jump into the red quickly as the boost comes up, but the Scanmaster readings are normal, 760+ O2 and 1 or 2 degrees of retard on race gas with methanol (100%) injection. The EGT hovers between 1350 and 1400. That's using an SMC progressive kit set to come on a 5 pounds and reach max speed at 17, with the boost set at 17 using an RJC boost valve. The car is basically stock with stock injectors, cold air intake and 3" downpipe and a TurboTweak chip. Pre-alcohol I would run 17 lbs on race gas and see the same readings except the EGT was around 1550. It seems like the alcohol is working, but . . .

I'd think that I'm seeing false knock, but I sure can't find what would cause it. And wouldn't the Scanmaster see the false knock also? The car seems fine otherwise, but I'm reluctant to go back to the track until I have this figured out.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like your way RICH!!!

you should be able to run 93 and no alky at 17lbs with P/P and fuel pump and hot wire kit.

what kind of o2 sensor do you have Get a gm if you don't have 1
they work the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks JD

If you see knock at low boost levels.. then more than likely its false or you have a bad MAF.

Your scanmaster shows knock.. whether its real or false.
